Actor Timini Egbuson has issued a stern warning to his followers, urging them to stop making jokes about the Lord’s Chosen church, and hinted that he may begin blocking those who persist.
Timini took to his Snapchat on Wednesday to address the issue after a follower jokingly asked him to buy her breakfast, claiming she was a member of the Chosen church.
In response, the actor made it clear that he doesn’t find these types of jokes amusing stating, “I don’t find these Chosen jokes funny. Might start blocking you guys. Soft warning.”
The follower, identified as Aquarius had written, “Timini, I am a Chosen. I am a Chosen, who are you? Buy me breakfast.”
This warning comes amidst a growing trend on social media where the phrase “I am a Chosen” has gained popularity.
This trend followed public criticism by influencer VeryDarkMan, who questioned the authenticity of testimonies shared by members of the Lord’s Chosen Church, led by Pastor Lazarus Muoka.
Also, Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna also learnt his voice over the increasing number of Nigerian pastors performing fake miracles to deceive and exploit people.
Ogbonna expressed his deep concern, describing the practice as a heartbreaking betrayal of Christianity’s true essence.
He urged Christians to remember that their faith is sacred and that true miracles cannot come from deception.
Additionally, Ogbonna appealed to religious authorities like the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the government to take a firmer stance on the issue.
He advocated for stricter regulations and accountability measures to ensure that individuals posing as pastors are held responsible for their actions.
