Primeboy threatens to sue Mohbad’s mother for defamation

  • Primeboy, in a statement signed by his lawyer, noted that Mohbad’s mother had during an interview accused him of having an altercation with her son before his demise.

Mohbad’s Childhood friend Ibrahim Owodunni, popularly known as Primeboy, has threatened to sue the singer’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, for defamation.

In a statement issued by his lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona, Primeboy took issue with comments made by Mohbad’s mother in a recent interview.

During the interview, Mohbad’s mother alleged that Primeboy had a history of fighting with her son and had complained about being neglected by Mohbad after he gained fame.

She also suggested that Primeboy was advised to flee after Mohbad’s death to avoid suspicion.

Primeboy’s lawyer argued that these statements were made with the intention of harming his client’s reputation and damaging his relationships with his fans.

In the said interview, you alleged that our client always fought the late Mohbad and consistently complained about his neglect by the deceased since the singer rose to stardom.

“You also alleged that our client was advised to run away after Mohbad’s death so as not to be suspected regarding the death.

“Your actions are deliberate to injure and traduce the integrity of our client, who is a rising star in the music industry. Your allegations in the interview have negatively impacted the affection and love enjoyed by our client from his fans and well-wishers around the world.” The statement read

Primeboy demanded that Mohbad’s mother retract her statements within seven days or face legal action.

Mohbad died on the 12th of September, 2023 at age 27.

It’s worth noting that Mohbad was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s “Marlian Records” but departed from the label in 2022. He had gained widespread recognition for his hit singles such as “Ponmo,” “Feel Good,” and “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” in collaboration with Rexxie.
