Famous activist and businesswoman, Aisha Yesufu goes head-to-head with controversial singer, Seun Kuti.
Yesufu terribly blasted Seun Kuti on the micro-blogging platform, X after he told her to get rid of her hijab before fighting for women’s liberation.
In his video, Seun Kuti kicked against external influences in Africa as he spoke on the need for Africans to dump European and Arabic cultures.
Hitting at Aisha Yesufu, he avowed that she is fighting for women’s liberation whereas in core Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, women can’t even drive a car not to talk of contesting a position in politics.
He noted that African society in the early days had great respect and tolerance for women compared to Europeans and Arabs.
In response to Seun Kuti’s video, Aisha Yesufu took to her X handle where she horrifically slammed the singer.
She stated that if Seun’s father, Fela Kuti had discipline over his loin, the world wouldn’t have been dealing with a figure like Seun.
Aisha Yesufu also ridiculed Seun Kuti’s music career.
She wrote:
“Seun Kuti @RealSeunKuti wants to trend with my name as his karaoke business no make am blow alongside those wey dey do music.
Imagine being angry that I am holding government accountable and not private sector! I don’t blame him sha! If only his father had discipline over his loin we would not be dealing with the consequence of that lack of discipline!
Person wey people dey book im show because dem wan see a caricature of his father even if they can’t have the real thing.”
