Popular Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other security agencies in Nigeria of violating his fundamental human rights.

Bobrisky took to Instagram to reveal details of a legal suit he filed in the Federal High Court of Nigeria, seeking an order to restrain the EFCC and other security agencies from harassing, arresting, detaining, or declaring him wanted.

Despite this legal action, Bobrisky alleged that EFCC operatives assaulted him and forcibly removed him from a plane set to take off, in what he described as a blatant disregard for his rights. In a series of Instagram posts, Bobrisky claimed:

“Notwithstanding the earlier filing of this fundamental rights matter, the EFCC still violently assaulted and harassed me and pulled me out of a plane set for takeoff.”

The crossdresser further accused other Nigerian security agencies of acting above the law, alleging that the Minister of Interior ordered his arrest and detention by the Nigerian Immigration Service and the Nigerian Police. Bobriksy said these actions exacerbated his health issues and were carried out without a court order. He added:

“The EFCC and other security agencies in Nigeria are violators of human rights. It is high time the world and the international community got to know about their trademark of rights violations.”

Bobrisky condemned the agencies for what he described as their disregard for court proceedings, stating:

“It is a shame that the EFCC does not respect the court. Neither does any security agency—they act above the law they claim to protect and implement.”
