Afrobeats heavyweight, David Adeleke better known as Davido has taken to social media to cry out over an unfavourable plot against him.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle with millions of followers, the singer who recently granted an interview where he trashed Nigeria’s economy, saying that it’s in shambles, averred that some kingpins want to cancel his incoming show in Lagos on December 24th because of what he said during the interview.

Davido in the interview had discouraged Nigerians abroad from returning home, stating that it wasn’t cool back home. He spoke about the unfavourable exchange rate and bad leadership ruining the country.

Speaking out, Davido averred that his show is about to be cancelled, however, he stated that he doesn’t even have to perform in Nigeria.

Publicizing the plot, he wrote:

“Dem say dem go cancel my show cus of my interview … loooool I don’t to have perform in NIGERIA.”
