“My wife funds me with her £100,000 salary”

During an immigration tribunal. Adegboyega stated that he receives financial support from his wife, Mary, who earns an annual salary of £100,000.

Tobi Adegboyega explained that he is unpaid for his work with the church and relies entirely on his wife’s income.

He also mentioned that he has a law degree from Nigeria but has chosen to focus on his work with the church instead of pursuing a career in law.

The pastor addressed criticism regarding his display of luxury, stating that his intention is to inspire young people to explore legitimate means for financial success.

He emphasized that all his personal possessions have been paid for by his wife, and he has never taken any funds from the church.

Tobi Adegboyega said:

“I live with my partner, Mary Olubukola Alade, who earns £100,000 per year working for AON. I spend my time working for the church, for which I am unpaid. I am entirely supported by Mary”.

“I have a first-class law degree from Nigeria but I have ‘sacrificed’ my legal career to help those who cannot help themselves.

“For instance, people have pointed to the fact that he wears designer clothing and drives expensive cars. He was adamant that all of his personal possessions had been paid for by Mary.

“He has never taken a penny from the church. He believes that it is important for him to dress the way that he does because he needs to inspire these young people – they need to understand that there are legitimate ways of making money, for instance through entrepreneurship.”
