Yvonne Jegede reacts to query of being an former prostitute

  • The fan, Damilola Made, jokingly asked if she had been a prostitute before acting due to her impeccable performance.
  • In response, Jegede who wasn’t vexed by the comment, stated that she was initially startled, thinking she had done something wrong when she saw the word ‘Ashawo’ attached to her name unknowing to her that it was an accolade.

Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede recently responded to a tweet from a fan, Damilola Made, who asked if she was a prostitute due to her convincing portrayal of a seductive character in Mercy Aigbe’s new movie, Thinline.

The fan who was blown away by Jegede’s performance had written:

“Abeg I get one very important question to ask @iamyvonnejeged. So you don do Ashawo before you start acting because tell me how you acted that ashawo role so perfectly?”.

Yvonne Jegede, known for her versatility as an actress, took the high road and responded to the tweet with humour and poise.

She jokingly expressed that she was initially startled by the tweet, thinking she had committed an offence.

In addition to addressing the tweet, Yvonne Jegede also took the opportunity to promote the movie. She described the movie as an “all-round beautiful story” and encouraged her followers to watch it.
