Nollywood actress, Lizzy Anjorin breaks silence on Gospel singer, Tope Alabi’s refusal to perform at her surprise birthday party.
Earlier, Gistreel reported that Tope Alabi made headlines for declining to perform at Lizzy Anjorin’s surprise birthday party and was paid the sum of ₦3.5 million.
However, in a recent development, Lizzy Anjorin has addressed the controversy in a video shared online.
According to the actress, she clarified that she is a Muslim, suggesting that her fans should have invited an Islamic singer.
“I’m a Muslim and I didn’t expect my fans to invite a gospel singer to my birthday. They should have invited an Islamic singer who is my fan”,She stated.
Furthermore, Lizzy Anjorin stated that she can never invite Tope Alabi to perform for her, noting that she has easy access to Tope Alabi’s songs on her album.
In a gesture of gratitude, Lizzy Anjorin revealed that she is unaware why Tope Alabi declined to perform for her.
She emphasized that the payment made to the renowned singer could have been donated to charity, citing the tragic incident of a pregnant woman who passed away over her husband’s inability to pay hospital bills.
“I already warned my fans to stop waisting money.I thank God I’m alive and healthy for my birthday. I don’t know why she refused to come down from the car”,She added.
