A young Nigerian couple is currently making headlines after allegedly orchestrating a fake wedding to defraud their friends of N5 million.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the couple was seen being questioned live at the radio station of popular broadcaster, Dr. Hamzat Oriyomi, following accusations of fraud brought against them.

According to the report, the couple created a WhatsApp group with over 100 friends, claiming they were planning a wedding. Each member of the group was charged N50,000 for ‘Aso Ebi’.
However, after receiving payments, the couple allegedly sent out low-quality materials, raising suspicion among the invitees.
Upon interrogation, the couple confessed that there was never a real wedding in the works. Instead, they planned to fake the bride’s death shortly after distributing the materials to avoid questions about the event.
The boyfriend admitted to receiving N3 million from the fraudulent scheme, while his partner reportedly got N2 million.
When asked to refund the money both admitted to have spent the money.
