Iyabo Ojo gets emotional as she reveals everything she’s suffered since Mohbad’s death

Nollywood actress and activist Iyabo Ojo has broken her silence with an emotional and detailed statement following recent viral videos showing men protesting against her and accusing her of obstructing justice in the case of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Iyabo Ojo has been one of the most vocal celebrities demanding accountability over the sudden and suspicious death of Mohbad, in September 2023.

From visiting his family to attending rallies and consistently engaging the public on the case, the actress has used her platform to amplify the need for a transparent investigation.

However, her activism has not been without backlash. Some individuals and groups—many aligned with opposing narratives—have accused her of politicizing the case or benefiting from the public sympathy surrounding it.

In a strongly worded post shared across her official social media platforms, Iyabo Ojo addressed the growing threats, dangerous accusations, and ongoing misinformation she has endured since she first spoke out during the early days of Mohbad’s tragic passing.

The actress clarified that she never accused any individual of killing Mohbad, contrary to what several protesters have been alleging.

She explained that her involvement came solely from a place of concern and humanitarian responsibility, which led her NGO, Pinkies Foundation, to write formal letters to top state authorities. These included the Governor of Lagos State, the Attorney General, and the Commissioner of Police — all requesting an independent investigation and a coroner’s inquest.

However, instead of appreciation for her civic efforts, the actress claims she has been subjected to severe intimidation, including death threats, false allegations, and even symbolic attacks.

Iyabo revealed that ahead of her daughter Priscilla’s wedding in Tanzania, she received a letter threatening her life. More shockingly, she claimed that her name was recently seen inscribed inside a coffin by those protesting against her.

“I never said anyone killed Mohbad,” she stressed, adding that her emotional reaction at the time was based solely on disturbing viral videos that circulated in the wake of the young singer’s demise.

Iyabo also noted that her businesses and source of livelihood have not been spared in the wave of attacks. According to her, some have openly called for her office and ventures to be destroyed, claims she is benefiting from the tragedy of another.

She further linked her ordeal to political persecution, recalling how her public stance during the last election cycle attracted severe online and offline backlash, further compounding her safety concerns.

Despite the tension and the mounting pressure, Iyabo Ojo maintained her innocence and reiterated that her actions were driven solely by the pursuit of justice — not politics or personal agendas.
