Burna Boy speaks on fatherhood, says touring leaves no space

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed that he may not be starting a family anytime soon due to his intense touring schedule.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra in London, the 34-year-old Afrobeats superstar said that while starting a family is something he desires, it’s not something he’s ready for while still actively touring.

Yeah, but I don’t want to start that on the road. I’m not planning of quitting tours anytime soon, so I don’t know where to now put that [starting a family]; find a middle ground,” Burna Boy said in response to a question about his plans for settling down.

The Last Last crooner also disclosed that his career has kept him constantly on the move, leaving no room for even the most basic breaks.

“I haven’t gone on a holiday since the beginning of my music career,” he said, noting that the absence of children in his life is one of the reasons he has never taken time off for leisure.

Burna Boy, who is known globally for his electrifying performances and sold-out concerts across continents, continues to maintain a relentless tour schedule. With no plans to slow down soon, the singer admits it’s difficult to find a balance between his personal life and professional demands.
