Peller used us for content – Female Graduate at ₦500K job screening fumes, Tiktoker fires back

Celebrity Gig

A Nigerian graduate, identified only as Nkese, has accused popular TikTok influencer Peller of exploiting job seekers for content during a recruitment event advertised as a ₦500,000-per-month cameraman position.

The incident has sparked widespread criticism and prompted a high-profile response from the content creator himself.

Nkese, via viral clip, shared her experience online, lamented that what was meant to be a genuine employment opportunity turned into a spectacle.

“I went for Peller’s job opening with the intention to work, pitch myself, and grow. But instead, I was used for content. No actual job, no follow-up — just part of another episode,” she wrote.

The graduate also alleged that Peller asked irrelevant questions about her tribe and body, including dismissing her self-identification as Efik and commenting on her physical appearance.

According to Nkese, many applicants traveled long distances—including one from Ago Palace—to attend the interview. She described the environment as unprofessional and demeaning, claimed the entire exercise prioritized entertainment over genuine hiring.

In response, Peller took to social media page, to clarify the situation and defend his actions, in new video.

He argued that attendees volunteered to participate and that no one was coerced. “When I said I needed a Master’s degree holder, did I tie anybody down?” he asked.

He challenged detractors to consider the broader context of youth unemployment and wondered why many reacted with anger when offered an opportunity.

The influencer insisted the session had been streamed live for transparency, labeled selected criticisms as narrow editing.

Peller also confirmed that two candidates were selected from the pool, and they would be receiving the ₦500,000 monthly salary. “Among the twenty people that came yesterday, we picked two persons. One will stand in for the other if one is not available,” he stated.
