Gen Z’s celestial girl, Ayra Starr, is giving fans a peek into her unexpected and hilarious friendship with none other than Starboy himself, Wizkid.
Speaking during her recent sit-down on the eTalk show, the ‘Rush’ crooner lit up when asked about her relationship with the Grammy-winning superstar. According to Ayra Starr, Wizkid is not only a musical genius but also a ridiculously funny friend who “is always sick” of her antics. She said with a smile plastered on her face:
“WizKid is an amazing friend and an amazing person to be around.
I could learn so much from him. He’s hilarious and we have the same humour, so he’s always sick of me because I try to make him laugh or something.”
Their banter-filled bond didn’t start off that way though. Ayra confessed she was a nervous wreck the first time they had a studio session together. She confessed:
“During my first session, I was panicking because it was Wizkid. But now we’ve done our music video together and I’m older. He’s always telling me how much I’ve grown.”
The pair recently teamed up on their summery banger Gimme Dat, which has been getting serious love from fans. And while the collab is a musical flex in itself, Ayra didn’t shy away from giving herself a cheeky shoutout. She said, laughing:
“He’s such an amazing artist and having such an icon working with me shows how much of an amazing artist I am… I had to sneak that in.”
Her bubbly confession comes not long after Wizkid publicly praised both Ayra Starr and Tems, calling them “amazing” in a response to a viral tweet from rapper Odumodublvck.
Now to Nollywood, fans are buzzing again about two of the industry’s leading ladies, Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, possibly squashing their long-rumoured beef.
Screenshots circulating online show that Toyin Abraham recently dropped a playful comment on Funke Akindele’s post.
But what really caught fans’ attention was the subtle check on their Instagram follow status. A check on their pages show Funke Akindele is now following Toyin Abraham again, while Toyin is also following Funke.
