Nigerian street-hop sensation Portable has answered VeryDarkMan’s viral diss track “Ole” with a musical rebuttal titled “I’m Not a Thief,” escalating the online feud between the two influencers.
VeryDarkMan’s original track, released this week, branded Portable a “thief with no grace,” referenced a 2020 video in which the singer was beaten by a mob amid theft allegations involving a phone and tricycle.
The diss, recorded with Monstarr Boi and uploaded to Audiomack, directly confronted Portable, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo over his disputed WAEC results, and even dragged INEC, Nigeria’s election commission. It quickly drew attention on X, Instagram, and TikTok, where supporters praised VeryDarkMan’s bold approach.
In his reply and public rebuttal, Portable released his own diss track, “I’m Not a Thief,” addressing the core allegation in VeryDarkMan’s song.
Portable, in the song, acknowledges the old 2020 incident but insists it was a setup. He reminded listeners that those controversies didn’t stall his rise to fame.
In the track, the singer slams the activist with personal insults, calling him “poor” and alleging that he is “gay”.
He also directs derogatory remarks at VDM’s family while vehemently denying the theft accusations.
“VeryDarkMan, your mother/ You are a poor person/ Your mother is a p********e/ Your father is a shoe maker/ I take after my father/ I am not a thief / Stop calling me a thief,” he sings.
