Odunlade Adekola loses father

Popular Nollywood actor Odunlade Adekola is mourning the death of his father, Pastor N. A. Adekola.

The 48-year-old movie star made the heartbreaking announcement via Instagram on Saturday, July 26, sharing a photo of his late dad alongside a short, emotional caption:

“Rest on my daddy.”

Though Odunlade did not disclose the cause of death or additional details surrounding the loss, his post quickly attracted an outpouring of sympathy from fans and colleagues alike. Celebrities such as Bimbo Oshin and Efe Irele took to the comment section to share their condolences.

Omg!!! My deepest condolences. May God rest his soul,” Bimbo Oshin wrote.

Pastor N. A. Adekola was a respected figure within the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) community, where Odunlade’s mother also serves as a deaconess. As of the time of this report, the family is yet to release funeral arrangements.

Born and raised in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Odunlade Adekola has become a household name in the Yoruba film industry. Apart from being a celebrated actor, he is also the founder of Odunlade Adekola Film Production (OAFP), through which he has trained and mentored many upcoming talents in Nollywood.
