The founder and General Overseer of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, has stirred widespread public reaction after announcing that he suspended his last son, Benhail Muoka, just a day after the young man’s wedding.
The dramatic revelation was made during a sermon in which the popular cleric warned parents never to relinquish control over their children, no matter how old or accomplished they become.
Addressing a packed congregation, Pastor Muoka used his own family as a teaching example. Driving home the message, the preacher shocked many when he revealed that he had just suspended his own son less than 24 hours after his wedding for disobedience.
“Even me, at this point in time, I still discipline my children,” he revealed. “One of them wedded yesterday, I disciplined him last night.”
He continued: “Yes. I said, you are now suspended because you must do what I asked you, what I am teaching in your wedding. So, I have to do what? Discipline him.”
Explaining the consequence, he stated: “I said now, you will stop whatever you are doing, so that you will have pain. So, you have to discipline your children.”
The Cleric said parents who fail to discipline their children may eventually suffer the consequences of their silence or weakness.
“Look at what would have happened,” he told the church. “And if you don’t learn lesson from this, you might be a victim of your own word. Which is not the will of God for you.”
He warned that parental authority must be upheld even when children are married or educated, adding that spiritual responsibility extends beyond childhood. According to him, letting children operate without correction is against biblical principles.
“So, control your children. Let them be subject to you. Let them fear you. Let them do what you want them to do,” he said. “And if they have done something wrong, you don’t waste time. You have to discipline them. Praise the Lord. I said, you don’t do what? You don’t waste time, you have to discipline them.”
Pastor Muoka also cautioned parents who believe that academic status or adulthood should shield children from rebuke. He disagreed strongly with such thinking, urging parents not to lose control of their homes.
“Don’t say they are too big, they have gone to school and you don’t have power over them. That is wrong,” he declared.

Benhail married his God-ordained partner Precious Duru at the church premises on Saturday, July 26.
The development underscores Pastor Muoka’s firm doctrinal stance on authority and obedience, themes he has consistently emphasized throughout his ministry. As the head of one of Nigeria’s most prominent Pentecostal churches, Muoka’s sermon is now at the center of national discussion on parenting, religious control, and family discipline.
