Actress and filmmaker, Mo Bimpe, is calling out a YouTube impersonator who has been shamelessly copying her content, stealing her ideas, and misleading fans into thinking they’re watching her original work.
In an emotional Instagram post that left fans stunned, the Ijakumo actress did not mince words. According to her, someone has opened a YouTube channel named “Mobimpewrite’s Stories” solely to clone her work video for video, poster for poster, even down to personal captions meant for her loved ones.
“Yesterday was my mum’s birthday,” she wrote. “And this person STOLE my entire caption, my entire post, and made it hers like it meant nothing.”
According to Mo Bimpe, this wasn’t just a case of innocent inspiration gone too far, it was blatant theft. The actress revealed that this impersonator has been gaining followers, likes, subscribers, and engagement off the back of her original hard work, while many fans are still unaware that the page is not hers. She said:
“She literally waits for me to post, then uploads the same thing. It’s not inspiration. It’s disrespectful.”
The actress admitted that she and her team have tried several times to report the fake page, but the account seems hell-bent on continuing the impersonation. The emotional toll, she says, is becoming too much to bear. She confessed:
“I’m mentally exhausted. Imagine pouring your heart into your work only for someone else to keep stealing it and smiling.”
Despite being known for keeping her cool and avoiding online drama, Mo Bimpe made it clear that enough is enough. She continued:
“I don’t talk much, but today, I need to speak out.”
“She’s NOT the only one. But today, I’m starting with her!”
Directly addressing the impersonator, Mo Bimpe issued a stern warning:
“To the person behind that page, I know you’re here. I know you’re seeing this. Just know that you will NOT go scot-free… You’re impersonating me and deceiving people—and one thing I can assure you is this: you will be caught. Soon.”
She’s now calling on her fans and followers to mass report the page on YouTube and to assist with any legal, technical, or platform-based means to help bring the fake channel down. She declared:
“I built MOBIMPE TV with tears, passion, and consistency. I won’t let someone else ruin that or hijack what I’ve poured my heart and soul into.”
