It was a bittersweet night on Big Brother Naija Season 10 as the live eviction show took an unexpected emotional turn.
Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, while addressing the audience on Sunday, broke the news of the passing of one of the show’s crew members, Ayotunde Elegbede.
According to Ebuka, the organisers received the sad information from Elegbede’s family earlier in the day. He offered condolences on behalf of the entire BBNaija team, noting the invaluable role Elegbede played behind the scenes.
The sombre announcement came shortly after the night’s eviction drama. Danboskid became the first housemate to be sent packing this season. His exit was met with an emotional moment as his close ally in the house, Zita, embraced him warmly before other contestants gave him “three gbosa” in a farewell cheer.
The second eviction saw Ibifubara leave the competition. Both departures were determined by viewer votes, with the live voting chart revealing that Denari narrowly escaped being shown the door this week.
Season 10 is still in its early stages, but the mix of highs and lows in Sunday’s episode reminded fans that BBNaija is as unpredictable as ever — both inside and outside the house.
In July, fans began buzzing after a romantic clip of Danboskid and Zita sharing an intimate moment under the duvet surfaced online.
The video, which has since gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), shows the duo cuddled up in bed, exchanging kisses with audible smooching sounds. It all unfolded just barely three days into the show, sending social media into a frenzy.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls Danboskid had earlier made a bold statement during his first week in the house, claiming he doesn’t approach women.
“I’m a fine boy. I don’t approach girls. But if the ladies want me, they should come get me. I’m bringing drama and my sexy body to the show,” he said confidently.
However, fans were quick to point out the irony after watching him get cosy with Zita in the dead of night.
