Nollywood actress Lizzy Gold has taken to Instagram to celebrate her close friend and colleague, Destiny Etiko, with a heartwarming birthday tribute. She also made a candid revelation about a past rift that temporarily strained their friendship.
In a lengthy post shared on Tuesday, Lizzy opened up about how gossip and hearsay in the film industry once drove a wedge between them. She wrote:
“Two years ago, we separated as friends because of too many ‘them say’ in Nollywood.
I became lonely because I don’t make friends easily like you do, so I channeled all the energy into my craft… but I missed you. Sometimes I would watch the way you mingle so easily and wonder how you do it, but I realized it’s your nature.”
According to Lizzy, Destiny eventually realized she had been misled and returned to rekindle their friendship, a gesture Lizzy deeply cherishes. She vowed that moving forward, they would laugh off any gossip and not allow malicious talk to ruin their bond again. She continued:
“Destiny, you have a beautiful soul and you are one of the few people that understand me. I love you for who you are. I love your imperfections. I pray today that God will open the heavens and release more blessings for you and your household.”
Lizzy also made it clear that she does not tolerate gossip and would not give room for it to come between them again.
In a follow-up birthday post, the actress doubled down on her affection for Destiny Etiko, calling her “the love of my life” and showering her with prayers for protection, guidance, and the fulfillment of her heart’s desires.
Destiny, clearly touched by the public display of love, responded in the comments:
