The Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has advocated a conducive work environment for all Nigerian workers.
In a statement, the Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of NIPR, Mrs Comfort Nwankwo, speaking on the occasion of the Workers Day 2023 celebration, noted that it was important to recognise the challenges faced by workers in these uncertain times and work towards creating a safe and conducive work environment for all.
She urged PR professionals to continue to uphold the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, as the profession plays a critical role in shaping the reputation and perception of organisations and individuals.
Nwankwo added that employers in the private and public sectors should prioritise the welfare of their employees.
She said: “As Public Relations professionals, we recognise the importance of the work we do in advancing the interests of our clients and the organisations we represent. Our work is to shape public opinion, build and maintain relationships, and ultimately drive business success.
Nwankwo acknowledged the hard work and dedication of PR professionals who have remained committed to promoting the values of the profession, despite the challenges in the environment.
“On behalf of the Lagos Chapter of NIPR, I congratulate all PR professionals on Labour Day. Our profession plays a critical role in shaping public perception and building relationships, and I am proud of the work we do.”
