Nollywood stalwart Rita Edochie has offered her support by visiting the ailing actor Mr. Ibu, who recently had his leg amputated.

On Monday, after news broke about her colleague’s leg amputation, Rita shared a video where she was seen at the hospital alongside Ibu’s wife, Stella Maris Okafor, who warmly expressed her thanks for the actress’s visit.

In the video, Rita can be heard offering heartfelt prayers for the actor and his family, with Ibu’s wife continuously responding with “Amen” to her supplications.

Captioning the video, Rita Edochie wrote: “I went to see Ibu John Okafor at Evercare Hospital Lekki Phase 1. He is doing well but all we owe him is to keep praying for him.”

Veteran Actress Rita Edochie visits Mr Ibu at the hospital after amputation On October 31, Ibu’s daughter Jazmine shared that the actor’s condition had shown improvement following five successful surgeries.

However, on Monday, November 6, Jazmine disclosed that the actor had to undergo the amputation of his leg after a total of seven surgeries.

The comic actor marked his 63rd birthday at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos on Tuesday, October 17. In a video shared on Instagram the following Wednesday, he candidly expressed his need for financial assistance to prevent the amputation of his leg.

On October 21, news broke that the Bukola Saraki Foundation had stepped in to cover the ailing actor’s medical expenses.

This turn of events occurred following a video posted by Ibu’s wife, Stella Maris, in which she alleged that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) had falsely claimed to be assisting her husband. The guild’s Director of Communications, Kate Henshaw, promptly refuted this claim, asserting that the AGN had indeed been providing support to Mr. Ibu.
