  • The Starboy maestro dropped this hot list mere hours after teasing the world with his newfound passion for diving into the realm of acting.

Nigerian music icon Ayo Balogun, commonly known as Wizkid, recently stirred the Nigerian music scene by unveiling his current preferred artists.

Via an Instastory post, the renowned artist listed Rema, Asake, Odumodublvck, Bloody Civilian, and Shallipopi as his currently favored artistes.

He wrote on his Instastory:

 “Yea my fav artiste right now Odumodublvck, Rema, Asake, Bloody Civilian.” 

Wizkid hailed this quintet as “superstars” and specifically gave a shout-out to Shallipopi.

Amidst a series of posts, the ‘Essence’ hitmaker declared his readiness to dance to Shallipopi’s tunes, affirming that even if a mere cough were part of the song, it wouldn’t dampen his enthusiasm.

With a huge fanbase, several awards, and honorary mentions, Wizkid is among the leading names in African music.

The multiple award-winning singer recently hinted that he is on a five-year hiatus from music.

He also humorously contemplated a range of activities he would indulge in during his break.

The Afrobeats star urged his fans to prioritise their well-being and cherish moments with loved ones.

While teasing his new album, Wizkid said he has made enough music to retire.

“I have enough music to retire, we are recording everyday so imagine how much music I have now,” he had said.

“I love the recording, the performing, I love everything to be honest. I have built my life around this for years, this is the only way I know.”

The singer lost his mum in August. Jane Dolapo Balogun was buried last month.
