DJ Cuppy becomes first Nigerian to host youth session at UNGA

  • Nigerian superstar DJ, philanthropist, and singer Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy, has become the first Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
  • Cuppy moderated the Youth Action Day at this year’s UNGA, themed “The Summit of the Future – Youth Actions Day.

Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, also known as DJ Cuppy, a popular disc jockey and daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, has made history as the first Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA.

Cuppy moderated the Youth Action Day at the 2024, UNGA, themed “The Summit of the Future – Youth Actions Day.”

Cuppy also delivered a musical performance after her keynote session.

Her session became the largest youth gathering in UN Headquarters history.

Other personalities at the session include the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs and the president of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves. Reacting hours ago on her Instagram story, Cuppy expressed her excitement writing:

“PINCH ME.

Can’t believe I had the chance to open up the Summit of the Future AND moderate at the @unitednations

General Assembly!

EVEN though I believe preparation meets opportunity, I KNOW it was really God speaking through me!.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has been receiving accolades online for her recent philanthropic initiative aimed at supporting African students studying abroad.

The popular DJ took to Instagram to unveil the ‘Cuppy Fund,’ a new initiative designed to provide financial assistance to African students at New York University (NYU).

In a video posted on her Instagram account, DJ Cuppy expressed her pride in launching the fund, stating, “So proud to launch the Cuppy Fund for African students at New York University.”

The announcement has since resonated deeply within the community, eliciting numerous positive responses from her followers.
