  • Mercy Chinwo has accused her former manager of a couple of things ranging from bullying, sponsoring rumours and threatening her.
  • The singer took to Instagram to make the claims in a fresh video she shared.
  • Chinwo also restated points made in an earlier statement she shared that detailed what allegedly transpired between her and her ex-manager.

Nigerian gospel musician, Mercy Chinwo has accused her former manager, Ezekiel ThankGod Onyedikachi, known as Eezeetee of threat to her life and spreading false reports about her son.

The singer made the allegation on Tuesday afternoon in a trending video on her Instagram page.

This is coming barely two weeks after Eezeetee, owner of the singer’s former record label, Eezee Conceptz claimed Chinwo dragged him to court over alleged diversion of $345K royalties.

The Lagos State Federal High Court issued an arrest warrant to the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to secure Eezeetee’s appearance in court after.

Reacting to the development, Eezee in an Instagram post denied the allegation and accused Chinwo of lying despite singing about Jesus.

Coming out to speak for the first time after her official statement days ago, the singer described Eezeetee as an oppressor and accused him of bullying her after replacing the original contract signed with his record label in 2017 to 2019 without her knowledge. In her words:

“Hello everyone, it’s your girl Mercy Chinwo, I never believed a day will come when I will sit here to share my story. For the sake of the body of Christ, I thought to bring clarity to a lot of misleading news or lies out there about my brand.

“A man said I sued him. He came online to make video to tarnish my name. He looked at me and said I made you whom you are and I will destroy you.

“I became scared for my life. It got to a stage where I had to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt because this man made the environment toxic for me. I have endured bullying, I endured threats.”

Mercy claimed that Eezeetee’s hatred for Nathaniel Bassey was the catalyst for the malicious rumours about her son. She tearfully explained:

“One of my major crimes was collaborating with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey on a song. Because this man hates him, he went as far as spreading fake news about my innocent child, claiming my son wasn’t mine and paying bloggers to do so.”

Mercy reiterated statements made by her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, on January 25, clarifying that she had never initiated legal action against Eezeetee over her music catalog and accused him of playing the “victim” while bullying her. She added:

“He took me to court and came online to tell the public that I took him to court. You bullied me, you threatened my life.”

Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on October 28, 2023.
